***Batman turns to his newest Robin and proceeds to calmly push him off the edge of the building they had been perched on***

Kids these days and their slang...

So I've just had to move. A month ago. and our phone line is down. This no good as it has kept me from the internet for a month. I'm looking to remedy this somehow. Until then, replies, posts, updates, etc, shall be sporadic.

Sigh.

Small Worlds

*does happy dance of joy*

Its always neat to find people you like and have missed (even if you've never actually met them) when wandering aimlessly through some place (dA in this case). I looking through some of my recent watchable happy people I found Armored Raven's dA page. Hooray!

[link]

She is an excellent chainmail artist (my work pales in comparison), a spectacular poi/fire dancer, belly dancer, and makes really neat tribal artwork ta-boot. Which pretty much covers nearly all of my favorite forms of artistic expression.

I was amused at one point, after having visited her home page when I first started learning chainmail. Several months later I remembered the lace pattern chokers she had made, and wanted to try making a variant of my own, which is what spawned the Gothic Lace collection. for a few months after making the Nightrose, and Rachel's Waltz I was trying to find a name for the series. The only thing I could think of was "Gothic Lace" which fit the pieces perfectly. It wasn't until a few more months after that, when I revisited Raven's page that I found out/remembered that's also what she had named her pieces that use the lace chain pattern.

Either way, go check out her work. Its very impressive and well worth the time.

Post Smartfest and Doom

Mon May 14, 2007, 4:14 PM
So SmartFest was survived. it was good to go, fun had by all.

Right now I'm in the process of trying to relaunch my website (the code is proving to be more than slightly difficult for some reason, yeach), but fortunately I have all the graphics done, which is nice.

I'll be moving in about two weeks here, which that's always a long and arduous task. maybe even onerous. Time consuming either way.

After that, some time in July (I think) is Anthrocon. that will certainly be a new experience for me... anyone been to this before?

SMARTFest '07

Tue May 1, 2007, 4:56 PM
So I'm going to be at SMARTFest 07 in a few days. What's SMARTFest you ask?

Check it out

Its a BDSM/Fetish convention held in Cleveland Ohio, and its a heck of a lot of fun! I'll be vending there over the weekend (the only time you'll ever get to see me in bondage as I find myself chained to my booth/table for 8 hours...)

Did I mention I also did the design work for their website this year?

Gotta Start Somewhere

Tue May 1, 2007, 4:43 PM
Something a little obscure? slightly amiss? what? DeviantArt? Sounds PERFECT!

What better way could there be to show off my work to people everywhere?
So after much consideration, I've decided to join the crowd.

I love what I do. Chainmail is a wonderful outlet for my creative tendencies, and I like getting to share my work with others, and hear what they have to say about pieces. If nothing else, good constructive criticism will help me come up with new pieces for all to see.

So there you are, and here you be.
